Being a member of a public service means that you come into contact with all different types of people – and Deaf people are no exception to that. Whether you work in an emergency service such as the police or the fire brigade, a public space such as a library, or as a member of your local council’s workforce you are certain to at some point work with the Deaf. Each of our courses are custom made for your organisation and individual needs. This means that no matter what your service does we can help you. Some of the things that you may want the course to cover include:
- BSL in emergencies – how to use it, when to use it and why.
- Directions – how to give directions to a Deaf person.
- Deaf awareness – how to communicate with the Deaf, and what to avoid.
- Specific BSL – sign language relevant to your profession.
